Rebecca through the centuries The skipjack Rebecca T. Ruark has worked the oyster beds of the Choptank in three centuries. Since 1951 she's had two captains, Emerson Todd (seen here in 1976)of Cambridge and Wade Murphy, Jr. of Tilghman Island. The latter's son, Wade Murphy III, has grown up aboard her. In <br />
2014, she was still working under sail, the last full-time sail dredger on the Chesapeake. She's seen here in 1976 heading home to Cambridge with about 150 bushels of oysters.
